Forest to Pack: Terra Wholefoods’ Precision Approach to Export-Grade, High-Curcumin Fijian Turmeric

Integrity in Every Pack: Our Turmeric Processing Journey

Forest to Pack: Terra Wholefoods’ Precision Approach to Export-Grade, High-Curcumin Fijian Turmeric

The transformation of raw, wild-harvested turmeric into an export-ready, premium product is a technical journey governed by precision and safety. Operating out of our 240-square-meter facility in Nadi, Terra Wholefoods has refined a "Forest to Pack" workflow that prioritizes hygiene, potency, and operational reliability. This process is essential for maintaining the high curcumin levels that characterize the Fijian turmeric root.

Our Forest to Pack Workflow: Five Stages, One Standard

Our workflow begins with Receiving, where quality inspected raw roots from the forests of Viti Levu arrive at our warehouse site. The turmeric then moves through Washing, Drying and Grading. Grading is our most critical quality-control stage; here, we separate roots based on density and color by hand entrusting our expert control team to inspect visually, physically and sensory to effectively grade for potency and ensure only the highest curcumin-yielding product is packed. Finally, the product is moved for Packing and Dispatch.

A Safety Culture Built Into the Facility, Not Bolted On

To support this technical process, our infrastructure is built for stability. Our facility is a high-integrity concrete and steel structure, a detail that provides peace of mind to B2B partners concerned with disaster resilience and food safety. Our commitment to a rigorous safety culture is evidenced by our proactive maintenance; for example, we recently completed a comprehensive "test and tag" of all portable electrical equipment and maintained an up-to-date Fire Safety Building Inspection Report.

What This Means for the Wholesale Buyer and the Consumer

For the consumers or wholesale buyers, our Forest to Pack process delivers a consistent, high-potency supply, free from the contamination and processing degradation risks that affect less-controlled supply chains. The adulteration of commercial turmeric with undeclared synthetic dyes, diluents and synthetic curcumin is well documented. A December 2025 scoping review analyzed 2,235 commercial turmeric samples across six continents and found an overall adulteration rate of 20%.

Our short, traceable, single-origin supply chain is a structural response to that problem. There are fewer points at which adulteration could occur, and more points at which it would be detected.

Our certification stack reflects the same standard: USDA Organic, SQF, SEDEX, CCOF Organic, Kosher, Halal, and HACCP. For formulators and buyers in the U.S., Canada, or international channels, that coverage removes the documentation gap between ingredient sourcing or shelf authorization without requiring additional third-party verification.

Buyers and consumers alike are paying more attention to provenance and potency than at any point in recent memory. By meticulously managing every step from grading for potency to the final pack, we ensure that the health benefits of Fiji’s forests are delivered with absolute integrity.
